This is a speech that was written that (as of this publication) has not been delivered. It describes the declaration of a new nation in America.
Good afternoon everybody!! How are you doing today, or as we say in Louisiana Creole: "Komen lê zafær??" Now listen; I'm speaking here today to issue an official declaration of a new nation within the United States of America. Well, only "new" in a sense. This nation has existed since the founding of our imperialist entity and was created in the exact instant that the Europeans began their slave trade and their genocides of the peoples indigenous to the lands that we call "America." That being said, I present you this: Created and evolving with, next to, and in resistance to the organised state known as the United States of America, exists a nation of all creeds and colours — a nation of workers who will fight tooth and nail for their rights and for their families — a nation of mothers and daughters who know that women hold up half the sky — a nation of LGBTQIA+ who know that love wins!!
What is frequently thought of as the whole of America is the reactionary institution of capital known as the United States of America. The United States, however, stands not to represent us but as a force used to oppress the truly revolutionary potential of this American Nation. A melting-pot nation with the ability to move mountains if so desired. Now we must not yield to the blind nationalism that has led us only in the direction of white supremacy and identitarianism. Our goal is to have that fire — that revolutionary character that comes only from those Americans who, for generations, have had their resources — their labour — their bodies stolen and evacuated of their resources. The American Nation is the creolisation of the descendants of slaves with the white proletariat, through the Queer liberators and beyond. All of those peoples who have had their relationship to power distanced by the fact that they were not born billionaires.
The American Nation is the people of all colours and classes. Never has there been a true American that has not suffered under the banner of Capital, nor of imperialism. For generations, the American Nation is the people of all colours and classes; "it could never happen here" was believed. For generations, we acknowledged not the trillions of dollars and millions of lives that were being stolen abroad in the name of "America" — or American Capital more accurately. It is now that the chickens have come home to roost. We in America are at an impasse: we can choose to allow Capital to issue its final death blow to the goals of our nation, or we stand up and resist this organ of institutionalised suffering.
Now here's the valid question: "What ought the nation do??" And I mean materially, y'all, what is the goal of our nation in the face of such grave threats to our safety, security, and livelihoods? I would posit that we organise ourselves. We organise ourselves into a real party, a mass party — beyond Democratic — beyond Republican, and Independent. The American nation needs to organise herself into a true front for a representative, participatory, democratic republic. In our party, we ought to hold some core central values. That
(a) All Men, Women, and People in all forms are created universally and unambiguously equal.
(b) The wealth and power that is generated by the workers of this country and indeed the world ought to be controlled by the workers and directed in their best interest and the best interest of the human race.
(c) That the system of organisation as things currently stand is unacceptable and only a revolutionary act of rejuvenation will bring about the justice and peace that we strive for.
What is known now is that our nation must unite behind a shared shield — that we must resist with our shared sword in defence of peace, hope, and justice for all humankind.
